MOBILE LPR for ECO ENFORCEMENT in Formentera
The Spanish island unveils mobile camera system to enforce their road security system
Challenge
The Formentera Department of Mobility needed to check that vehicles on local roads were duly accredited during the period of formentera.eco enforcement.
Solution
The new control system âtwo Survision Picopak LPR cameras, a tablet and modemâ has been fitted into an electric vehicle emblazoned with the Consell de Formentera and formentera.eco logos. The cameras read number plates and check whether vehicles in question have an associated formentera.eco authorisation.
Results
Those cameras scan and control the number plates of all vehicles entering and exiting the island.
This year, formentera.ecoâs third, anyone operating a vehicle on local roads between 24 June and 7 September must possess the proper accreditation in order to do so.
